First of all, please read product size for all Mega Mini Kits, the product is quite small, but that is the reason that we were drawn to purchasing it. These are GREAT stocking stuffers and unique gifts! You can be sure if you give this as a gift that the receiving person will have not gotten the same thing from someone else. The Mega Mini Kits are quite delicate as they are so tiny, but they work well to set on a desk or a shelf. My fiance loved this kit!

My Uncle loves this movie and most particularly, this scene. So, this was a Christmas gift to him. The item as exactly as described and arrived very quickly. It would make for a great stocking stuffer or gift for a collector!

In the past I have read a few books written by the greatest heavy weight boxer, Muhammad Ali) and when I saw this large size hardcover book Twelve Rounds to Flory by Charles R. Smith Jr. and illustrated by Bryan Collier) on Amazon market place for a bargain price I purchased it.This 78 page book gives a brief biography of â€œThe Greatest.â€ It is also fully illustrated. In round one it tells of the birth of Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky. Round two explains how the meeting with a police officer changed his life, when the officer suggested that young Clay should learn how to box. Round three tells about â€œClay, the conqueror of Rome.â€ Round four further explores how the mighty mouth was used to get his opponents shook up and off their game plan when he fought them. Round five covers the rise of Muhammad Ali in the ring. Round six deals with the â€œpolitics of peace.â€ Round seven through twelve further chronicles his life.I found this book somewhat interesting but many of the pages were missing in this book which left gaps in the totality of the book. This is one of the down sides to ordering books in the used book section of Amazon market place; nevertheless, if you are interested in the life of the greatest heavyweight boxer who ever lived, you might want to check out this volume.Rating: 3 Stars. This IS a MUST read. The book chronicles Ali's life through 12 beautifully lyrically-written poems using a one-two combination of Ali's words and the author's. The words read well on paper but when read aloud seemed more powerful, more blunt, more Ali.Bryan Collier is once of our favorite illustrators and he did not disappoint. His rich and bold watercolor and collage-style illustrations add depth and texture to the free verse and sometimes lyrical poems.The rhythmic verse of this biography may be perfect for readers who may find other biographies too wordy or boring.

I've loved Ali since I was a child and my dad would talk about him and how amazing he was. This book details Ali's life in 12 rounds...from Cassius Clay to Mighty Mouth to Ali to Champ of the World to Retired Peace Maker. Smith uses some of Ali's rhymes while creating unique prose to chronicle this story. The artwork is brilliant and clearly shows Ali's transformation through the years. Another outstanding display of historical significance that everyone should know. 5+++ stars

This is a truly Groundbreaking book that helps us understand the importance of Emotional Intelligence in our lives. There are 3 Keys to Emotional Intelligence:1. The ability to handle impulses2. The ability to handle difficulties and setbacks3. The ability to handle pressure and anxiety.Overall Emotional Intelligence is our meta-level ability to handle emotions and use them to our advantage. I discuss in more detail in the video above.

The overall premise of the book is a good one - emotional intelligence and the ability to handle our own emotions as well as recognize and interact with others' is an important skill in all aspects of life. But Goleman uses classic business book vignettes like parables which fool the reader into thinking there's some epiphany in the context of the pages, without any nuanced discussion of important and relevant examples that lie farther away from the extreme examples he includes. In multiple places, Goleman assumes an incredible amount of insight that isn't grounded in any science, repeatedly using words like "may" or "might" when the effect it to make hypothetical and unsubstantiated relationships appear true. The book also attempts to cover too many subjects to be coherent on any single one. Good central insight, poor execution.

Knowledge is about the facts. Wisdom is about understanding and applying those facts. Miles Kington quipped, â€œKnowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad."Without understanding, everything we know is useless. We need more understanding and that is where emotional intelligence comes in.I love working in higher education because I get to interact with so many students majoring in a variety of fields. I get to learn about so much just by association. But I also get to see students connect the dots throughout their liberal arts education. The English major may not like his chemistry class and the Biology major probably abhors here art class, but I enjoy seeing these students expand their minds and gain perspectives connecting academic fields together.Additionally, I enjoy seeing students live in community, learning to connect their academics to the lives. In life changing moments to the mundane of the everyday, this is where students learn emotional intelligence.Emotional Intelligence is one of those foundational works that everyone needs to read. It simply shapes how you think about everything you do and everything you are.Though the whole book as great, I greatly enjoyed the section on optimism. How optimistic you are about life has a huge impact. Your sense of optimism is more predictive of your success than your intelligence. Giving someone optimism is crucial. â€œPeopleâ€™s beliefs about their abilities have a profound effect on those abilities. Ability is not a fixed propertyâ€I also found the section on dealing with tragedy or difficult memories particularly interesting. I already knew about the chasm between our emotions and the inability to communicate them effectively. (This is why it is hard to explain the reasons you love someone and why listing pros and cons seems absurd). But I never thought about the importance of communicating terrible emotions into words. â€œPeopleâ€™s emotions are rarely put into words; for more often they are expressed through other cues.â€ This is probably why just going to therapy just once can be beneficial. Putting horrible memories into words can help you confine and control the emotion.This book is a new favorite. It is a must read.

I highly recommend reading this book. It will help you understand yourself and everyone around you, and why you and they behave the way you/they do. It's amazing and explains not only the scientific background, information about the brain, but then, how that translates into thinking and behaviors. Emotional Intelligence truly is the most important and it is what creates a safe, happy relationship, family, home-life, community, workplace etc., versus the opposite! This is important for you, your family/children, co-workers/bosses, etc. Everyone should read this book!

I'm definately a negative person. I knew I had to change that, so I bought a couple of books to help me with this (not a fan of psychologist in the flesh), anyways. The book is self-explanatory. It gives you insight on how you brain functions and a great deal of tips to encounter your better self when solving problems, discussing with people, appealing to your good side always. True many parts of the book was to technical, but that's because when you don't know why something works like that, the author tries to teach the reader how that works. I definately recommend this book.Excellent book.

It is an amazing interesting concept that, when understood, can help with navigating organizations.A word of caution for prospective readers - this reads more like a textbook than a story. It is worth the effort but don't go in assuming the pages will fly by.

The "Genealogy of Morals" itself is what it is. There are many others who have done a more critical review of it than I can provide. However, what I am dissatisfied with is the quality of the Kindle edition of this book. It's terrible! It looks like the publisher scanned a printed version of the book, ran it through an OCR, and published it straight to the electronic version without passing it through any kind of editing process. There are so many examples of incorrect character recognition of the printed type that it distracts from the book content. For example: "What is present-day Nihilism if it is n.)t that?" (Kindle Locations 548-549). What is a n.)t? Nietzsche already has a unique style of writing, so it's hard to distinguish between what he meant to say and what is printed in this electronic version. Another example: "...the odour of the entrails of a misbegotten soul! - ? That excepted..." (Kindle Locations 537-538). Did he actually write ! - ?, or is that another misprint. Do I look for meaning in this (as small things like this in philosophy can actually have meaning), or can I ignore it as an artifact of sloppy electronic translation? It can be very frustrating at times.Update (I'll post these mistakes as I come across them):commas!: "...we have "utility," "forgetting." "habit." and finally "error," the whole..." (Kindle Location 284)wrong parentheses: "...got to lick {not out of fear, not at all out of fear! But because God ordains that one should honour all authority)..."(Kindle Locations 596-597)random f--f the triumph?: "...what they demand they call not revenge but f the triumph of righteousness..." (Kindle Locations 604-605)On second thought, I'm not getting paid to edit this book. You get the idea--there are many, many mistakes in this electronic version, so be prepared.

Nietzsche is Nietzsche. Stunning insights mixed with nonsense all make for a subversive but fascinating text. Too insightful to ignore!

Best of Nietzsche, with the best translation. Many people misunderstand Nietzsche because they don't have a wholistic view of his philosophy. This book rectifies that. Many think Nietzsche is a nihilist. Not at all. A very good and comprehensive read, and edition.

I recently started coaching roller hockey and this book has been a godsend. I use it constantly to plan practices and drills. It covers everything from specific skills to offensive and defensive strategy. You might want to have more specific books on some in depth subjects (e.g. goal tending) but this does a great job covering all the basics. I highly recommend it.

Good info. The part explaining defense is especially helpful, i.e. when to defend against a shot and when to play the pass. It makes coaching ad teaching penalty killing and odd-man rushes a lot easier.For the record, if you find yourself defending against a two-on-one, always cover the pass from inside.

Does a good job on explaining the basics of roller hockey instead of just using ice hockey skills. Good drill instructions for the coach. An item I wish was in place was the official roller hockey rules.

Here, he presents a series of previously uncollected pieces on artists, photographers and individual photographs and paintings. If you've enjoyed Beauty in Photography and Why People Photograph you will appreciate more clear-eyed writing and observations here.Something I hope for, but am doubtful we'll see, is a new sustained essay on the working conditions of photographers or a detailed piece on Adams's view of the world (like the title essay in Beauty in Photography or The Twentieth Century in the West from Why People Photograph). Such an essay is absent here, the pieces are quite brief yet powerful and insightful.

Such a beautiful, welcoming and wise book. You move through it slowly - looking, reading, thinking... You come to the end, sad that it is done... But you may find yourself starting over â€” this time working through it even more slowly. There is remarkably innovative thought presented throughout, and there are many carefully chosen, beautiful images to take in. A true pleasure.

This is a book containing short articles about individual artists by Adams who is probably the best writer of any photographer. I discovered several photographers I had no idea about. No longer articles but a useful book for any serious photographer.

As a self-confessed Robert Adams-ophile, this is yet another shining example of Mr. Adams' ability to invoke awe, wonder and inspiration about all kinds of Pictures. Easily digestible in a short afternoon read, yet worth of many return visits this is up there with my other favourites of his.

It is rare to find writing that is as amplifying and sensitive as the photos it is matched to. This is such a book.

With two days to prep with my son and his fiancÃ©e, we put together a meaningful and satisfying very small wedding. I officiated. Not exaggerating: I could not have done it without this book. Now that I have done one, I feel well prepared to officiate for just about anyone. The book has many samples of ceremonies, a variety of texts suitable for religious (primarily Christian) couples and others for nonreligious couples, some pop culture quotes, and practical suggestions. We used bits and pieces of all that material plus original texts and some ideas from our families' traditions and came up with something unique that reflected their personalities, values, and interests. Great investment! Four stars is only because I think with more editing the organization of the book could have been tighter and easier to use. But it is easy to use, don't get me wrong!

Whether you are religious, spiritual or indifferent, or whether you are a heterosexual or same-sex couple (which we are) this book is a wonderfully helpful place to start to create your wedding ceremony. We read through the book, (Kindle Version) highlighted the verses/blessings/sayings that we liked, then we took everything that we liked and printed them on to index cards by section of the ceremony and then narrowed it down again to the ones that we really liked and then we edited the verses even further to our own liking and to something that was really fitting for us as a couple. Here is a hot tip: I ended up buying a second version of this book on iBooks because you can email yourself all the highlighted entries though iBooks and then I just copied and pasted all the sections we like into MS Word (or similar) and then printed everything thing on to index cards.

This was one of the books I purchased to help make script writing easier for me as an officiant. It offers step-by-step instructions, practical guidance for a variety of ceremonies (ranging spiritual to secular), and has many wonderful quote suggestions. The couple was able to thumb through this book and pick their favorite of each script component, which simplified the process tremendously, and made it less stressful for everyone involved. I would recommend it, and know I will be returning to for future weddings.

I'm acting as the officiant for a friends wedding and this book is very easy to use for planning purposes. Through all the hub-bub of trying to pull together my wedding, and make it memorable and beautiful, I was really struggling. A friend told me about Dayna Reid and her new Do It Yourself Ceremony book, and WOW, what a difference! The book is so easy to understand and the way she itemizes all the different aspects of the wedding process, I don't know if I would have been able to really pull it off had it now been for this book. IT IS AMAZING!!! I highly recommend this book for brides to be everywhere, whether you are getting married this year, or its not even for a few years... it is great tool to put your own signature and flair on what should be THE most important day of your life!! I am going to be buying a bunch of them as gifts for some of my single friends as well as the ones that are planning to take the plunge soon. AWESOME AWESOME !!! 5 Stars!!!

I conducted a ceremony for the first time last month (June 2015), and this provided to be an invaluable aid. Not only did this book lay out traditional and non-traditional wedding ceremony formats and actions, but it also provided multiple examples of text and quotes to use for religious, spiritual, and secular ceremonies.So, while I still created a unique and personalized experience for the wedding party, using this for ideas and inspirations relaxed me and allowed my creativity to flow. It destroyed the "power of the white."Whether you are yourself an officiant or are planning a wedding, I can't recommend this more highly.My officiating was a resounding success, by the way.

I've found this to be a great resource for building our non-religious ceremony. Lots of different options to choose from and the book is well organized.I'd suggest sitting down with your fiance and reading through it together. It might seem like a lot, and you might have to break the whole thing into multiple sessions, but I feel like its worth the time. Use a pen, underline the sections you like and come back through later to make the final decisions.

This wonderful little book has everything you need to know about writing a ceremony script that wows...plus more. I highly recommend this book for the new and not so new officiant.

The elusive Vermer. I never thought I would see all of his some 35 paintings let alone with a back story of each painting with supposed origins and verified possessions by the various characters that came into his life and beyond. Needless to say his use of lighting was pretty remarkable and some discussion of his use of the technology of the time is gone into. It's certainly no secret his using a camera obscura. I like the segments of detail for each painting and how Vermeer was influencd by a given artist before approaching work with his own unique view. Much mystery still surrounds him, and maybe thats part of the draw. A somber brilliance and dignity of technique pervades each piece, even one of his early works ...a brothel painting; so uncharacteristic of his later work is so commanding in his brushwork, one can almost forgive the baudy content.

It is one of the great ironies in the history of Art that so few paintings were produced by Vermeer and so few of his works have survived. Yet those we have contain a haunting quality that is difficult to describe in mere words. Vermeer could make time stand still and induce the viewer to just stare in wonderment for hours on end even at a simple household scene.He was a true Magician at using color and light to create Mystery and Mood.One of the Great painters in all the world.

This is a good exploration of Vermeer's work, where not only are the paintings presented, but close ups of details and some analysis of what the works were trying to convey to us. Vermeer's works are important to study (in my opinion) because it is a window into the beginnings of what we could call the middle class, as the Netherlands were becoming wealthy from trade and the old social structures of nobility and peasantry were being bridged by the increased prestige of skilled craftsmen and other trades that improved the living conditions of many people.

Wonderful set of Vermeer's paintings with fascinating tidbits about how various works were discovered and rediscovered over the centuries, the possible use of the camera obscura, influences on Vermeer, and how several of the paintings were stolen and later recovered. I only wish some of the descriptions were longer.

First, it's more than worth its price.There's a lot on info packed into the description of each painting including where each painting is located. To be able to see any Vermeer almost instantly is terrific. Be sure to use a device that's capable of color. Only 4 stars? I had a small concrete job coming up (i'm a handyman by trade) and needed to refresh the section of my brain holding all my past experiances pertaining to concrete and cement work. i have this book in my library of "how-to" literature. The one section it was lacking (and what i needed information on) was how to construct forms for a stepped block wall. i was already sure how it was done, but just needed to see if i forgot any details. this book gave almost no information in this categorey. I did find the section on arched brick work somewhat interesting. for more detailed and updated reading look for Tautan Press books.

I guess this book is everything it says it is. I use it for reference . Whenever i need to recap on a calculation or making a form ...this book has been there for me.

This is a great little book! A must-have if youâ€™re an avid meal planner (or want to be one). Large enough to write comfortably, small enough to fit in my purse. I would love a spiral bound option.

This planner has everything I wanted - shopping list, breakfast and lunch notes, plus weekly planning for dinners. Only thing is I wish it were spiral-bound so I could keep it open easier.

I got this for Christmas 2017 and I started using it first of the year. I used to print menus every week but I would sometimes lose them. So when I saw this on Amazon I was very pleased. The book is made very well, well written. Only things I would change is add a sew in bookmark to it. Make it easier to keep open, a harder cover on the book so it does get bad creases.It fell apart almost by the end of the year. The back cover completely came off. The cover and pages curled in the front. But it didnâ€™t completely fell apart so thatâ€™s a huge plus.

This makes meal planning so easy!!! The only thing that I have noticed is as soon as I opened the first page and started writing in it, the bonding started to come undone. That doesnâ€™t really affect my opinion of it because it has made meal planning easy in my house, but is a bummer.

Love this book! Itâ€™s a good size, and the soft-touch cover feels really nice. It seems durable (I will update my review if that turns out to not be the case).Taking off 1 star because the book arrived a little damaged. The bottom right corner was smashed with some black smears on the cover and the first couple of pages. I was able to get the black off the cover and straighten it out good enough but you can still see in the picture where it was damaged. Not sure if this occurred during shipping or beforehand.

I have tried various forms of food planning and this is the best Iâ€™ve found. Itâ€™s compact size is perfect for carrying in my purse and the planner has room to write what is needed to plan meals and stop wasting fresh produce without overwhelming detail that normally has me throw in the towel as too time consuming. Each week has two pages that open flat so you can see the whole week at a glance. The left page has lined space for each day, Monday to Sunday. Starting on Monday works well for me as I normally meal plan over the weekend, a seemingly small benefit for a planner but it really does help having the whole week you are planning visible while planning and grocery shopping. The right page has lined sections for â€œBreakfast Ideasâ€, â€œLunch Ideasâ€ and â€œShopping Listâ€. I LOVE the â€œIdeasâ€ sections as opposed to specific breakfast and lunch planning, books or apps that have specific breakfast and lunch plans are just too time consuming to plan whereas those that donâ€™t address breakfast and lunch have left me clueless when Iâ€™m hungry in the morning or packing lunch. I use the â€œIdeasâ€ sections to write in suggestions Iâ€™ve seen in cookbooks or on tv in the past week, items in the sale circulars that look good, leftovers put in the freezer last week, etc. The â€œShopping Listâ€ section is a perfect size to write down items needed for recipes, weekly sale items, etc. All in all my perfect meal planner.

This book want quite what I had hoped. It doesn't have a spot to create a menu for Dinner, just Lunch and Breakfast but if you want an affordable menu creation book this one will work for you.

Purchased based on recommendation from a blog. It works. My one negative is it needs to have a spiral spline rather than glued. The book is hard to keep open when shopping.
