In the second book of the series about the Durrell family in Corfu, Gerald revisits some of the experiences already mentioned in the first book. He elaborates on the characters already introduced, and we learn how the Durrells influence the locals and how they are influenced by them. Of particular interest to Gerry are the parade of young men who serve as his tutors who struggle to teach him French, history, and other subjects his English mother feels it is important for a young Englishman to learn. Another of the most important characters is Roger, the dog who is brought from England and returns with the family when they go home .Gerry uses his remarkable vocabulary to describe the scenery, the colors he sees, and the creatures he adopts to bring them alive to the reader. I laughed out loud at some of the experiences Gerry and his family lived through. It is obvious to me Gerry holds the island of Corfu and its residents in deep respect and affection.Reading this series has educated me in how expatriates deal with the local economy and the residents. I learned a little about local customs and traditions. I look forward to reading the final installment in this pleasant series.

I'm a huge Durrell fan. This book first read at age 10 instilled in me a lifelong interest in most creatures and reading. His descriptive style brought Corfu to life for me and his familial anecdotes had me laughing heartily, as they do now. The island and its inhabitants and his family and their friends as seen through the eyes of an ardent 10yr old naturalist is priceless. The trilogy has withstood the test of time and the stories related are as fresh as ever. Makes me wish we could turn back the clock and enjoy that more innocent time again. (Of course his use of derogatory terms for us black folk and the implicit condescension towards Greeks can be grating but the insults are few and the condescension not meant so I tend to overlook it.)

I discovered this little jewel of a book years ago. I read it and passed it on to my sons, who loved it.It is a wonderful portrait of an English family making a new life on the island of Corfu`. The best line comes from Spiro, the factotum of the Island, who writes: "War (2nd World War) has been declared. Don't tell a soul!"

What a charming trilogy! The first of the books is my favorite, as the latter two simply revisit the story line, but in greater detail and touching on a few more obscure stories. I was transported to the island of Corfu by the author's lovely writing style and attention to detail. As a naturalist, his love of "all creatures great and small" shines through. It also had a good deal of very clever humor and is simply a truly enjoyable read. Highly recommended.

I have been watching the series on PBS and thought the books would be fun to read. For me personally they are very dry. I wish I had just bought the first one to try out and not the whole series.

Since My Family and Other Animals is my favorite book of all time, this is just as fun. Watching this young child's interest in science and animals grow amidst his hysterically funny family dynamic is a great diversion for the times. There is another one to get later.

I love these books! The fact that they are non-fiction makes them better. His descriptions of the island and his family bring you right there with him. He truly gets excited finding a new critter! There is a little bit of me in these books.

I know this author well so, while I haven't read it yet I know I shall like it. I have read the first of his trilogy "My Family & Other Animals" and it was delightful. These types of books and authors, however, aren't easily found in Chapters/Indigo etc. so I turn to Amazon... they are great, especially for books - good prices and excellent, prompt delivery.

While I did not read or review the first edition of this book, I did review Gwynne’s Richards’ other book: Warehouse Management (also in its second edition).[...]The key point in favor of The Logistics and Supply Chain Toolkit is actually made on the very first page of the book – in the 10th line of type to be exact - in an endorsement by Nigel Price, Managing Director, CRP. He says that the book provides the tools as well as the plans for managing logistics and supply chains. As simple as it sounds, that’s all you really need, and it’s harder to find than you might think in the books and other thought leadership published today. Master the basics and their application and the sky is the limit.Another example of a basic concept that is covered and elevated in the book is the Pareto Principle (a.k.a. the 80/20 rule). I expected the authors to dismiss it as a casual approach to data in a high tech analytical world. Not so. In their opinion (much to the relief of those of us working in the real world…) there is still room for proven rules of thumb. The trick is to apply it where appropriate. 80/20 is a big stick to swing when analyzing broad opportunities rather than a precision approach to be used in more detail sensitive circumstances.According to the authors, an example of where 80/20 is appropriate is in managing supplier relationships, separating companies with high spend from those with smaller spend. They then expand their discussion of relationships – particularly the strategic ones – by providing a diverse and interesting list of dimensions that qualify the closeness of supplier relationships. All the songs I love are in this book. It's not an easy piano book, for me anyways. If I could have seen the inside I probably wouldn't have bought it because my skill level is not that high. So when it arrived I was disappointed because it looked too hard for me but because I love their music so much I decided to try anyways. I found there are some songs that are easier to play and with the harder ones I just played the chords with my left hand which worked well and sounded pretty good. I took some pictures of the inside of the book so people can get a better idea of what they're buying.

As noted by another writer, there is not one song that has the harmony notated. Anji, the guitar instrumental, is written out in full tablature. Many of these songs are written in the key of E Flat, (3 Flats) so the guitar chord structures are correspondingly unusual, unless you are use to playing in this key. For a piano player though, the key shouldn't make that much difference in ease of playing these songs. (E Flat isn't the only odd key signature for some of these songs, A Flat, D, A, G and F key signatures also show up.)I really like many of the songs, I'm just not up in skill enough to effectively play them properly.

I like it. It has Easy Songs and Not So Easy Songs, but I even enjoy just paging through and reading Paul Simon's lyrics. It's a great collection of early Simon and Garfunkel. As a guitar player, I found it easy to read most of the songs, but there were Key Signatures that I'd never seen, more aligned with piano (which is ok). But, as a beginner this seemed to fit that ground where some I can't play make we want to learn more so I can play them, because they seem just a step or two beyond where I am but worth the effort.

THIS...book is a masterpiece...all guitar parts, piano, and vocals...fantastic. If YOU like to play Simon and Garfunkel's songs...GET THIS BOOK!!! It is WELL worth the money!!!

I'm am an old guy and have been listening to this music for over 50 years. The keys and notes in this songbook are very accurate with the recordings. This is a bargain for the top quality.

It is pretty good. If you want to perform the songs alone, this book gives guitar chords and a piano part. However, it does not include the vocal harmonies. It pretty much always just has the melody. Also, some of the piano/guitar harmonizations don't seem to match the recordings. They still fit with the vocal melody, of course, so maybe you won't find it to be a big deal.All in all, it was fun to look through.

Being a pianist and piano teacher, I look first at difficulty levels. This was about a Level 3-4, which is Late Elementary to Intermediate, especially if you know the songs already. The layout of the pages made it very easy to read. All the words and verses were there, including Art Garfunkel's harmonies. Guitar chord changes were not very frequent and used pretty basic chords (again, kind of easy). Overall, it was perfect -- and including songs of their four best recordings! WOW!

Overall I like the journal. Worth mentioning however is that while it totally functions as a journal, expect the product quality to be more like a book than what you might typically expect when buying a journal. If you're familiar with how books are now printed, I'm guessing this is made the same way (with print on demand). The lined pages look like someone scanned lined notebook paper and then printed in black and white to make these books. I like the quotes that appear at the bottom of some of the pages. I don't remember if the description mentioned that there are also unlined pages with illustrations that can be used for sketches etc.

Lovely notebook. I gave this to my stepdaughter for Christmas; she's a big Evan Hanson fan. I wanted to give her something inspirational. As soon as she saw it, she said she wanted to write in every day.

We saw this play on broadway and my girlfriend absolutely fell in love with it. She loves this journal, and loves that there are quotes from the script throughout the pages as well.

I love this journal! It is a perfect gratitude journal with just enough Broadway to get you going! I absolutely recommend this item!

Itmmmmtgw book literally spoke about women and money.It was a woman’s therapy session. I see the correlation of money and how it plays a role in women but I was more interested in what women need in regards to finances.

So far I truly love this book it's got some awesome points in it and I ordered two more Susie's books and at least one of them I intend on sharing with my daughter... The money book for the young fabulous and broke! She is headed through a divorce and is truly young fabulous and totally broke!

As Suze emphasizes knowledge is power. I've read this book cover to cover and as a retiree even I learned a lot. More importantly this is "must have" reading for the young women in our lives. Purchased one each for my twin granddaughters who are in their sophomore year of college and am confident this book will help guide them in their future financial, career and personal relationship decisions. This is such an empowering gift to women. Love it!

This might be a good book, but not necessarily what I was looking for. I was interested in investment advice and "TO DO's", but this is more of a self-confidence building guide for women who are a little timorous and intimidated by the idea of financial investment and self-financial-management.

This book is useful for someone who has never thought about managing money in any way. There is good general advice, and empathy around not focusing on finances, budget, retirement, or investment. It explains the bare basics, but if you've already had a retirement account for sometime, realize that you will need to save and invest for retirement, and understand that cutting back on consumer goods and saying no to relatives who mooch are part of being an adult, you won't learn much.
